Reading the Marks: A Short Guide to Hallmarking

Turn any Aquison piece to the light and you will find a row of miniature stamps. They are easy to overlook and impossible to overvalue: the hallmark is the only guarantee of purity that does not depend on trusting the seller.
The marks, decoded
A BIS-hallmarked piece carries the BIS logo, the purity mark (916 for 22K, 750 for 18K, 585 for 14K), and a six-character alphanumeric HUID unique to that very piece. Alongside them sits our own house mark — the maker taking responsibility by name.
Why the HUID changed everything
The unique ID means any piece can be verified independently through the BIS Care app — its purity, its assaying centre, its maker. Provenance is no longer a story; it is a lookup.
